"I painted this when I was in a sort of melancholy mood. You can see hints of the
skeletal tree limbs in the background, and the crooked tombstones in the distance. I'm not really quite sure why she has a skull - she seems to be carrying in remembrance of someone. This was painted in a nearly monochromatic, black and white and shades of grey. There are shockingly red splashes of colour though in her jewel-like eyes and her tattered but shiny wings. The female character really "stands out" in this piece, and Norm has given this 3-d version an added sense of depth. The original painting is acrylic on canvas."
