"I have always gathered a lot of inspiration for my paintings from Grimm's
Fairy Tales. Little Red Riding Hood is a story that has always resonated with me particularly. However in this piece I've done my own take on the story - a
slightly more sinister (but still very cute) gothic Red Riding Hood who has
instead befriended the magnificent Wolf. I've portrayed Red Riding Hood with
somewhat of a stylized smirk, and have painted the Wolf in a more realistic
manner - showing him as a real animal rather than an evil villain. I painted
this piece in autumn, and the colours of the background reflect this - greys
and browns. The muted setting really makes the brilliant reds and deep
blacks "pop" out at the viewer, which is even more apparent with the wizardry in this 3-d version. The original painting is acrylic on canvas."
